Best Berger bullet for 300 and 600 yard target shooting?

What do you think is the best bullet to be used for both 300 and 600 yards?

You define best however you want to, please include your criterion.

I am leaning toward 6mm. Probably 6 BR but I am open to suggestions.

The action is a Borden TPE, glued into a traditional benchrest stock with a LV barrel chanel. (I have a 6 PPC for 100 and 200 so that is covered.)

Will be shot from a bench with a Raptor rest and rear bag.

If you think the distances should be split between two bullets, please explain your rational and give your recommendations.

Why specify Berger? At this time the quality is sufficient for my purposes or I would not be asking this/these questions.

Straight BR or any of the improved with a 105gr VLD or Hybrid is hard to beat.

95 VLD is a sweetheart. Shoots little bitty bug holes at around 3000 fps

For what it’s worth, I just shot my 6.5x47 in a local 600 yard Freedom BR match with 140 Hybrids against a whole bunch of 6mm’s with custom bullets and ended up winning light gun and the two gun grand agg. Berger makes a lot of good bullets.

I've had barrels that liked 105VLDH, 105Hybrid, and 108BT. 108's were easiest to get to shoot. Sorry not to be more help.

Confined to 6mm I'd say Bart's 105 gr. will be hard to beat with the right load. Bumping up to the 6.5 several of the Bergers shoot really well.

I just mentioned this in another thread but don't overlook the midweights. They often outshoot the heavies until the wind trumps accuracy. The 90 Bergers shoot very well. Very forgiving and tune easily. Not a Berger but a BIB 95gr flatbase is an excellent bullet too.

Since the OP is asking about Berger bullets only, I’ find the 108’s to be exceptional in a straight six at 300 -600 yards, I’ve shot them to 1000 yards .

My load in a 6BR takes a 105 Lapua Scenar "L" bullet. Great factory bullet for those ranges.

The Weatherby really doesn't like the VLDs!!
Can't get groups smaller than 2" @ 100 yards with the WBY and VLDs.

108 BT's has been the most consistant for me. The 95's shoot pretty darn good as well. Some barrels like the 105's, but I think the 108's are easier to tune.
