Best Ar Varmint Trigger

I am finishing up my 6x45 AR-15 varmint rig. I need to know what you all think is the best trigger for the job. I don't mind spending the money if it is worth it

let me know what you guys would buy

Thank you for the info

I have 2 from Chip McCormick,sp), and I am very satisfied with them. I bought them after using triggers from Knights Manufacturing for several years. The McCormicks aren't quite the trigger that the Knights are, but they cost half as much. I used the Knights in Highpower rifles and the McCormicks have gone into varmint rigs. they are a GREAT trigger for the price. I've used Jewells in boltguns, and I don;t think there is another trigger for a boltgun, but for an AR there are other better picks.,my .02)

The very best AR trigger hands down is currently the Geissele trigger. They cost $279+ and always seem to be backordered.

I have had one on my match AR015 for about 2 years now, and thousands of rounds and it's still fantastic.

One of the great benefits of the Geissele compared to all other AR triggers is reduced lock time, which is critical for a precision rifle.

The Geissele is hands down the best AR trigger. They have 3 different models to suit the trigger pull weights that you are used to or prefer

Contact for Geissele triggers. Many top shooters consider this the finest trigger currently available for the AR15 platform. However, at $279.00 it is very, very expensive.

From the Geissel web site, http://www.geissele.com/detail.aspx?ID=2:

The Geissele Match Trigger Pull Weights:
First Stage: 1.3 – 3 pounds,2 pound nominal)
Second Stage: 4 to 14 ounces

The Geissele Hi-Speed Match Rifle Trigger is designed for NRA High Power Rifle competition with highly modified AR15 Spaceguns.

The Geissele Match Trigger includes all the Geissele standard features:
Lightning fast lock time
Separate sear adjustment for a sharp 2nd stage
Independent 2nd stage weight adjustment
Overtravel adjustment
Wire EDM cut sear surfaces for a smooth, precise pull

Thank you guys for the great information.

I think will go with the Geissel.

Question is out of the 3 what one is best for Varmint rifle. I looked at all the specs but cant decide what one is the best.

any in put is appreciated.

I really enjoy these forums.. thank you

Of the three triggers, you will probably want the Match trigger. This is a two stage trigger where you can set the first stage at a pound or two and the second stage at less than a pound.

On my match rifle, I have the Match trigger set at 2 pounds for the first stage and a few ounces, about 6, for the second stage. I pull through the first stage and then I just think about shooting through the second stage and it's gone.

What I really like about the Geissele trigger is that after several thousand rounds, it still works and feels the same as when I first installed it. This is not common with aftermarket AR triggers.

Thank you to everyone who replied. I went with the Geissele DMR. I chose this because from the web site it stated

'The Geissele DMR trigger also works great for 3 Gun matches, hunting and general target shooting.'

the best part is I found a used one with very few rounds on it, I think he said around 200 rounds. It should be here this week

thank you again this is a great forum, my rig is even closer to being complete

Chris
