Best 6mm Cleaning rod?

I am shopping for a new 6mm cleaning rod. I already have a fairly high end one, but it is a little tighter than I want in the bore, and the bearings seem to get more drag under the load of pushing a patch. Any recommendations on a good one?
Thanks!

I've been using Dewey coated rods for many years in my 243's. They work fine for me and last a long time. You can also get copper solvent resistant jags and brush adapters for them.

My rule on cleaning rods is that the best one is the one you pick out from among the 20 or 30 at a well-stocked dealer, having checked each one for straightness.

What fairly high end Rod do you have now ? I have used Dewey , BoreTech , and Tipton with good results on 22 Cal. and bigger . The small Calibers like 17 and 20 are another story . From those I know who buy the very best , I hear a lot of guys like Ivy Custom Rods . I would also look into the new Montana Extreme Rods which are supposed to have super Ball Bearing Handles ...... maybe a user will chime in .

I think I am running a bore tech, and if I recall correctly, I am using the 7mm size in the 6mm. It works, but the ferrule that the jag screws into is rubbing the rifling. It isn't a rod problem, rather using the wrong equipment problem. If I am shopping for a new one, might as well look at options.
Thanks!

Boretech actually makes a 6mm cleaning rod. Only one I know of. Most people I know just use 22cal.

I hear the Ivy name a lot but I've not seen or used one.

Is will be hard to get anything better than a Ivy if you want less deflection and no grit embedded in your rod.

I use and like Dewey rods. Wouldn't say they're the best, but they work perfectly fine for me. No special threads on Dewey rods. All standard. Of course 20 and 17 cal jags and brushes will have much smaller threads so the 20 and 17 cal rods do as well.

If patches are tight in the bore, try a slightly smaller 22 cal jag in your 6mm bore and/or custom cut your patches until you get the right fit where you don't have to put a lot of pressure on the rod and start bending it in the bore. That will help lessen the drag on your rod handle bearings. I always keep a high quality set of scissors in my cleaning tool box and all different sizes of jags. I only buy 2" pads and cut them appropriately for whatever caliber bore I'm cleaning from 20 cal to 44 cal. Then I only have to worry about buying one size of patch and I always get a perfect fit.

Any good rod will get the job done if you get the right fit with the jag and patch. A good quality bore guide is the most important thing in my opinion.

Ivy Rods by Denny Ivy. Haven't checked latley but he did have a website. Mackr

I use Dewey rods , and have switched to their "copper eliminator " series of rods, brushes and jags. NO COPPER on them , so any blue I see is from copper in the bore.

Why I no longer use my Parker-Hale rod or tools. The only copper or brass that goes down the bore is the bullet.
