Bertram Brass 300 Winchester Short Mag brass

Bertram 300 WSM brass—any good or not???

Hey BIGMAC -
I asked that same question about 6-8 months ago and never did receive any first hand experience posts back. - Maybe someone will hopefully post a reply that has some firsthand user knowledge. -

I have heard both good & bad things about Bertram brass & some of it was caliber related. - I do know this, Bertram CheyTac brass won't hold a candle to the new Peterson CheyTac brass. - I've also heard that the 338 Edge Bertram brass was "The Cats Meow" so there's a differing opinion. (I've not tried any in 338 Edge).

I know this is a really old post but I am using bertram brass in 300 wsm and 308 norma mag. I have to say it is the best brass I have ever used. I do not weigh or sort brass so i cannot comment on that, but as far as accuracy goes it is leaps and bounds better than other brass. I am shooting a 31" hawk hill barrel 300 wsm in a 1.280 straight contour setup for an elr rig throated really long for 230 bergers and 225 eld's. I started with Winchester and was losing pockets after about 4 firings and accuracy was decent. Switched to norma and the accuracy was much better but again was losing pockets. Finally bought some bertram and I'll never go back. Immediately the accuracy was much better and I found that you could run the brass much harder without so much as seeing pressure signs. I bought a large quantity of the bertram but am still on the original 40 pieces I started with. I have probably 300 rounds through those 40 pieces and the primer pockets are as tight as the first time I loaded them, and mind you I am stomping the crap out these cases. 2,990fps with rl26 and either 230 bergers or 225 hornady eld's. I rarely shoot the rifle less than 1 mile and even at that distance it will hold half moa if I do my part. With the 308 norma mag it is exactly the same. I'm using a 26" heavy varmint contour Douglas in a 12 twist, short throated for 125 nosler ballistic tips. This rifle is my varmint vaporizer and once again I stomp the guts out of this brass shooting 125 noslers at 4,000fps. It's incredibly accurate and like the 300 wsm you cannot hurt the brass. Nothing like throwing a groundhog 10ft in the air at 400yds when that 125 hits them.
