Berger vs Lapua

I've used Berger bullets for target shooting and found them very good. Recently I was looking for a suitable bullet for a .243 1-10" twist for long range shooting and I found two, both 90 grain Hollow Pts with similar BCs. They are the Berger VLD Target & the Lapua Scenar-L target. Any opinions as to how these bullets compare? I'm aware that Lapua recently purchased Berger, so any difference may soon be non-existent.

They both make there own bullets..

I would imagine they also make their own jackets. I know Berger does as in J4. Matt

I won't opine on the potential, as it's a really broad topic with a lot of variables, but I can say that Scenars and Bergers mic out to very similar tolerances base to ogive. Haven't measured the Scenar Ls but I assume those just have better jackets?

Personally, I believe the tie breaker is going to be your particular rifle. I've been confronted with a similar situation and my rifle liked the Bergers and hated the Lapua's. Conversely and in another caliber, the Lapua's outshot the Bergers. I suggest you get some of both and give them a try and let your rifle tell you what you need to know.
