Hello! Sorry for my english, i have this bullet cal .30 and this powders: BL-C(2), IMR 4064, IMR 4350, Norma 202 and Viht N550; i want reloader this bullet, what powder is the best ?
Haw many grains? What COAL make use for Remington Police 700 cal 308W? The bullet have free-bore zero of 3,0196"(in). Reloading for long-range.

4064 is good, but kinda temperature sensitive, dont know about the others you listed. I like varget. For varget i shoot real small groups with .5 grain less than max published load, so work you way up till you find what works. You'll never touch the lands with a factory remington so load to magazine length and go from there.

People say that bergers like to be jammed in lands for them to shoot great, so you might have a hard time getting them to shoot if you can touch the lands. If its not working, than try sierras, theyre usually easier to tune for me.

There are a host of powers that shoot well in the 308w, all your selections will work with a 185 gr bullet.
IMR4064 and Varget work very well as whiskey08 mentioned. and with a range of bullet styles and weights.
Varget is my personal choice in 308w, followed closely by RL 15. This power is another good choice but can be a little temperature sensitive if using near max loads on hot days. A start load of 41 grs working your way up to a maximum of 45 grs of Varget, CCI br2 primer behind the Berger 185 gr VLD. My load is 44.5 grs Varget …… Get yourself a Hornady over all length gauge with a modified case and bullet comparator then you can set your own COAL.

If you can get some N540 try working up to 2600 fps which should be around 43.0+ grains. Not a hot load but should be very accurate.
