Berger thick bullets

In checking Powder Valleys site, I found a listing for this bullet: "6mm 105 Grain Match BT-THICK TARGET ONLY". It is also available in 108 grains.

I wrote to PV inquiring about them, and their response was that they are for target use only. I guess "thick" means they are not a hunting bullet and have a heavy jacket. No explanation found on Berger's site. I am thinking of trying them in my 8 twist 6BR. Does anyone have experience with theses bullets? Is there some advantage to them over the regular 105 and 108 gr. match bullets?

Eric's comments are interesting, but they relate only to jacket failure. For most of us using regular, thinner jacket bullets, that is not a problem. Now that the thick bullets have been available for a while, I would like to know whether they have any other advantage over thinner jackets. Specifically, is there any difference in accuracy or MV??

From the link above -

You are correct in your belief that the accuracy will be no different between the standard and thick 6mm 108 gr BT. The thicker jacket is meant only to ensure that you do not realize failures. Everything else is the same.
