Berger SWN 7mm F-open Shooters Question

Of all you guys that just finished shooting F-open at the 2016 Berger SWN, those of you shooting a 7mm of some variety (.284 Win/derivative, 7mmRSAUM/other), what bullets were you guys using?

I assume the majority were using 180g Berger Hybrids, but was curious if anyone was using the new Sierra 183s?

If the 183s, how did they do? Were you happy with the performance? Any unexplained flyers/weird shots, etc. ?

Anyone try the 195s?

I have a 1:8.5 that will be my barrel this year, planning on shooting 183s in this barrel, so any input/experiences in a match this size would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I shot my usual Berger 180 Hybrids in everything but the 600 yd. Used my standby 1-9" Bartlein's. The points I dropped were not because of the bullets, but my lack of doping ability.

Considering your performance Larry, I don't think there is anything wrong with your doping ability.

Kyle,

I shot the 183's all week. They shoot flat the whole time, even though my load warmed up a lot out there, they never started blowing out the top. My scores don't reflect how good they shoot for me...that damn range has my number and I've yet to figure it out like Larry has...all the misses are owned by me, not the bullets. I'm very happy with them.

So are you finding they like jamming like the VLDs or touching/jumping like the hybrids?

Take what I say with a grain of salt...as before the BSWN I only had 100 rounds for score at 1000yrds...that said I shot the Sierra 183gr bullets out of a Brux 9 twist. I tested in 30 degree weather at 1000yrds they shot fine IN MY RIFLE..I'm not saying they will work in all 9twist barrels... The bullets/twist rate/rifle combo didn't let me down. My lack of experience and first time to that range kicked my butt.I learned a bunch from some top tier shooters....I've got a lot of things to work on...and I will go back and hope to improve on my scores.

I am playing with these in IBS benchrest. At Cool Acres I'm able to use the electronic targets and aquire some useful data. Thus far they are performing best jumping g around .010
