Yesterday was the first day of the individual Championship.
Weather was absolutely beautiful, sunny and about 72 degrees, very little wind and some great scores were shot in both F-Open and F-T/R classes. The high scores for the day in the Palma course were 449-24X in Open class, and 449-21X (new national record) in F-T/R.

Team Match results so far. The 1000 yard portion of the team match is scheduled for today.

Team / Score / Coach
Sierra Spindle Shooters / 1772-75X / Shawn Ahrens
Team Berger / 1768-67X / Mid Tomkins
Team Lapua / 1765 - 75X / Erik Cortina
North American Shooters / 1765 - 75X / Bryan Litz
The Long Shots / 1753 - 57X / Michelle Gallager
Gray Hairs / 1651 - 27X / ?

Whoo dogies. That 2nd and 3rd place team match was close....

Erik who is on your team? Great shooting. Great to hear Danny is up to his normal shooting stature. I wonder how many National Records he holds now? He came up to Memphis a couple of years ago and shot the new Course and it was nice all weekend. He piled up record after record. I had to submit something like 40 National Records to the NRA that weekend. My pen fingers are still twitching. : )
Thank you for the report. Im stuck overseas and am missing out on this match. Sure miss it thats for sure. Tell Mechelle and Nancy Hi for me.

My team mates are:
John Gaines
Herb Edwards
John Myers

The 1000 yard part of the team match was shot today. The winning team was the Sierra Spindle Shooters, Team Berger was second, and North American Shooters were third.

Danny also shot a 199 this afternoon in very deceptive conditions. Some folks counted six full switches in 30 minutes. I watched his string and saw him drop the point. He waited several minutes before firing the next shot and finished with no faults. He is a fine (and patient) shooter.

Danny Biggs shot his 200-15X in extremely easy conditions yesterday, no wind no mirage! So, having said that, today the winds picked up and were switching quickly making top level shooters drop a considerable amount of points! So how did Danny do in such challenging conditions, well, he came to the line and picked his way through the challenging winds and shot ANOTHER 200-15x !!!

So, just in case someone would say that the reason he shot his record is because of the easy conditions, he did it again in very challenging conditions! Awesome shooting by Danny Biggs! Congrats to him!

Was Danny shooting off his modded bipod? Always nice to see a record fall, even when viewed from the other side of the world its good to see the competition delivering deserving winners!

Ian

Danny also has a SEB front rest. I know he used it at SOA for the 1000 yard portion. I wasn't at Phoenix but if I'm guessing he was using the SEB either way that was some outstanding shooting

I believe Danny shot the Thursday team match from the bipod and the individuals from a Seb rest. It seems to matter less to Danny than it would to me. He shoots well regardless. ;)
