Berger Issue

Posting this as a heads up, attention to detail type safety issue. Bought a couple of boxes 95gr Berger 243 VLDs over the weekend. One box had a single 168gr 308 in it. Glad it was a 308 and not a 257 cal bullet as I might not have noticed it. I know it's not a perfect world but Berger QC may have been on vacation. The contamination was impossible on my part as I have never had a 168gr 308 Berger VLD in my possesion.

If I were you, I would contact Berger. Eric Stecker is VERY concious of quality control, and I am sure that he would appreciate this information. He is probably at the Shot Show now, but please make the effort to let him know about this. James Mock

I had same thing happen two years ago. 30 grain Berger 224 box of 100 had a single 180 grain 284 bullet. I called Berger about issue and they sent several boxes free. I wasn't expecting this in return for just a single bullet out of place. They are a great company. As above, I would contact them. They will want lot number of box as well as check other boxes just in case. Scott

I think I already post it somewhere, but... In the end of 2011 I bought several boxes of 6mm 105gr. Hybrids.

On 2012, I started to use these bullets and on 25 boxes, two was on a lot number that I found 6 bullets of 6,5mm caliber on each box. these 2 boxes was the only ones on that lot number.
Interesting that on this exactly same boxes I found too a stick with some "moral phrases" like "I never let my study interfere with my education" (or something like that, I don't remember well and English is not my first language).

I ended up with 12 bullets of 6,5mm caliber... and I don't have any 6,5mm rifle.

Anyway, this 6mm hybrids shot so well that I did not bother with those 6,5mm bullets. And it was only on these two boxes (same lot).

I did not contacted Berger because I am not in US and there is no Berger dealer on the next 6.500kms around. And it is no big deal for me because they shot great.

I personally have never had a problem with Berger. I have called them and they went out of their way to assist me on technical issues.
