Berger 95 VLD reviews ?

You hear very little about this bullet, and it’s usually in a 243 or something.

Anybody get these to shoot dots? My buddy and I are having a GT Reamer made and REALLY thinking about going with an .080 fb just for these bullets.

Thanks

My go to bullet in one of my 6 Dashers. My reamer has the .080 fb and it is spot on perfect. With the correct fb the 95 VLD will shoot with anything as far as accuracy goes! Rockchucks tremble with fear when this rifle comes out. Lol. Should be a great combination in a 6 GT. Be sure and keep us posted as this should be a tac driver.

What barrel twist rate are you using?

Sounds great guys, I figured they were solid.

Building 2 guns alike, shortish barrels for handling purposes, thought we’d try the 95 to keep things above the magic 3K for hunting, while still being able to drive tacks, because only accurate rifles are interesting…

Shot these a few years ago while fireforming a 6BRA. These suckers produced great groups in good conditions. If you're going to chamber up a 6GT (I run one now in F-Open) you'll get these things running up around 3200fps in a long barrel.
This is what I've been preaching of late. The drift of a 95vld vs a 105 vld with velocities at 3200fps vs 2950, respectively, the drift is virtually identical and I'd go with the one that shoots smallest of the two. I'm finding with consistency, shorter bullets shoot better than longer bullets. YMMV. But if the drift numbers are virtually identical, why wouldn't anyone go with the one that will shoot smallest. Obviously, ya gotta test in your gun to know but I think the mid weight bullets get over looked all too often.

Guns and Gunsmithing, concur!!

These days a lot of shooters looking at absolutely highest BC bullet but IMO don’t give enough consideration to velocity differences and windage differences; if any.

Also if you re shooting 600 and in then the higher bc mid weight bullets can potentially out perform the heaviest.

Been trying to find an answer but exactly what is the difference between the Target and Hunter bullets when they are in the same weight?

Been shooting exclusively 223 the past 3 years and never loaded a Berger bullet. So yes I am ignorant.

Quite a few of us use them for high power silhouette for the first three animals/distances (200m, 300m, and 385m) in 6BR.

I've been refining my loads over the winter and have landed on 28 grains of VV N140 in my 26" 1:7.5 twist barrel.

A few pictures I have of testing... first is 3 shots at 100 yards, second is 300 yards (two different sessions).
