Berger 82 gr .223 load?

Hey guys im starting to work up a load for the .223 82gr berger bt targer bullet. Anyone use this bullet would like to find out what works for you? Im starting off with TAC,Varget,RL-15. THx guys!

Depending on your freebore, Varget in the 24-25gr range works well in a rifle throated for the 80.5.

24-ish grain of Varget (or N150, or RE15) behind an 80-ish grain bullet has been a pretty standard 500-600yd load in a lot of guns for a lot of years... doesn't really seem to matter whether using Winchester, Lapua or LC. Might not try it with Federal, simply because I have some reservations as to whether it'd handle the pressure.

Cool thank you. What kind of fps are u getting? And how far off the lands are u starting. I was thinking about .20 off the lands to start.

20 thou is a good starting point. MV ranges btwn 2700-2800+ depending on barrel (throat, length, make, etc.). It's not the most 'high performance' load out there, but its worked well for a long time.

I started with a standard .223 Wylde throat and went longer with a unithroater. So if you have a decent throat, 24 to 25 is reasonable in Lapua Brass.

.020 off is where I landed also.
