Berger 73 GN 223 loads

Does anyone have Varget load data for the Berger 73 GN 223 bullets. A starting load and a max load would be helpful in keeping me out of trouble.

Thanks,

Mike

The Hodgdon site lists 22.5-25.0 (C) for a 75 gr. bullet.

I did a bunch of testing this summer with that bullet in three different .223s. Varget was the powder of choice for all three.

I was really impressed with the accuracy. You will not be disappointed.

would you share your load data ?

Using AR magazines @ 2.250" COAL, the 73 gr Berger's at 24 gr of Varget was the sweet spot for my 20" barrel.
I'm using Winchester brass and either 205m or cci-450 primers & 2.250" coal.

In my R-700 bolt rifle I use 2.330" COAL in MDT magazines & 24.6 gr Varget.

I was running 24.4 in a 1-9 twist gas gun with a 26 inch White Oak barrel. Those 73 grain bullets shot 1/4 MOA. One of the best 223 bullets I've ever used. Was going to use the gun as a backup F Class midrange gun but gas guns in F Class are a pain. Of course your milage may very so work up to it.

P.S. that was with Varget and CCI 400 primers.

Sorry, I have purged most of my load data from that time period as I am using different equipment now, but I did find one reference to 24.3 gr. Varget with a 450 primer, WW brass.

I didn't use the same load for all three rifles. Just the same bullet.
