Have any of you fellas shot any of these Berger high BC 6mm 66 and 69gr flat base varmint bullets? they look like they might be hard to tune from the way they look with the long pointy nose design. what twist have you shot these with and how did they group? Lee

lee ive shot the 69 bergers fbhbc in my 1x14 twist 6mmbr.266nk. 26in. hart hv barrel with 205m fed primer&30.5gr. vita135&32.5gr varget 135did somewhat better very clean burning&conistent 2&3 s 5 shot groups very common at 100yds. they even shot better groups in this rifle thanr68 gr. bergers thanks alan

I have shot the 69 gr bullet in a 1-14 tw 6X47 Lapua. Shot well with Varget & vv550. It shot better than Hornady, and Nozler (faster and lower pressure than the Nozler which has a long bearing surface) bullets in same wt. range in both new and low runout fireformed brass. It was not hard to tune, and liked a 10 to 15 thou jam best. That bullet is now my go to bullet, even though it is 50% more expensive than the others.

Yes, I have used 66 Berger FBs in my 6PPC in 14" twist. It works very very well. I wont bother posting 1-200yd groups, but I used it last week in 500yd F Class. and got 60.8 out of 60.10 (8 Xs on an ICFRA target). I experimented with jam/jump and it prefers .015" jump. If I go .005" either side of this, accuracy suffers, but this is just this barrel/leaded/chamber/barrel combo.

Anyone else shooting the 66gr Berger High BC 6mm bullets? I finally got ahold of some and initial testing is pretty good. I quickly realized a very short free bore is in order. My 6ppc has a .045 free bore and i can make these bullets work, but just barely. A zero free bore would be best. I found my accuracy .007 back from full value jam. Testing has only started to begin. Lots of work yet. I had 4 in one hole at 200 with the fifth about .5 out. Not sure why. there was no real wind today. lee

Im not sure i got that message? I will look in the spam pile. Sometimes certain e-mails go to that spam folder. I dont know why?? Please send it again if i dont reply by email to you. thanks Lee

I shot thousands of them at p. dogs....

they blow up just like a 70g Nosler BT. All these pointy bullets must be seated to touch or slightly jam the lands.

So.......if you have a long throated chamber....forget about it!

Skeetlee,

I shoot these in my Cooper 6BR (1:10 twist). They do fine out to 300 yards (longest our range has) with 5 shot groups of 1.0" or less if I do my part.

I think you'll get good results too.

Keith is right. My ppc has a 35 or 45 freebore and it just does make it to jam. My new reamer has a 60 free bore and i bet it wont work. Lee
