Berger 6mm 105gr VLD Hunting bullets availability?

Now that I got brass, no bullets. Powder valley had some and I placed and order only to get a "dear john" email the next day. The search for powder, primers, brass and bullets is getting old. I'm down to one gun that I still shoot Bergers in but that may change soon. I don't need this aggravation.

According to info contained in the thread titled “105gr Berger Hybrid Availability” below, Berger has relocated from CA and recently resumed manufacturing at their new facility.

It is frustrating. When I started this journey Bergers were readily available and not all that much more expensive than Sierras, so I never did any serious load development with them. I'm going to revisit that in light of Sierras being available and less expensive. The other thing I'm thinking of is trying some custom bullets. With what Bergers are selling for now, they are not really all that much more expensive.

Always willing to experiment... what sources are you considering for custom bullets?

Really haven't thought much about it. I was going to try Barts but I imagine he can't even answer the phone now.

The Berger 6mm 105 VLD Hunting bullets are in production and should be available sometime mid to end of May. We thought we had enough product to get us through the move but increased demand used it up faster than expected. A second production shift was added in March so we hope to get caught back up soon. Our apologies for the delay and inconvenience.

I understand it may be difficult to answer, but type of production are you guys putting out? is supply going to be great enough that it trickles down to the local gun shops? will there be enough for the big online storrs to stock inventory and not be sold out in hours?

That's a tough one to answer. I guess it would depend on the online stores outstanding back orders. In regards to the local dealers I don't know. Will ask and let you know if I can.

Appreciate it. Just trying to figure if I can need to by several thousand or if I can just buy 1k or if I can time.

Thanks

Bullet orders are shipped out on a "first come first served" basis . So if your local Berger dealers order was in before some distributor their order goes out first.

Powder Valley supposedly has the 500ct boxes in stock. I just ordered one, pt#24758. Will see what happens. Last PV order I placed, I got a "dear Jim" email. Their inventory is not real time.

PV told me to use their new site cause it shows inventory in real-time. I have no experience if that is indeed the case - but that's what they told me... Not sure why they don't redirect the old site to the new one...

There is a plethora of other excellent 105 weight projectiles out there. From Berger you have the 105 Boattail, 108 Boattail, 105 Hybrid. From Lapua you have the 105 Scenar. From Sierra the 107 MatchKing. These should keep you in business from most distributors.. AND they are all excellent!
