Berger 65gr BT Target

I picked up some Berger 65 BT bullets just too experiment with in my 26" 6mmBR rifle. With .100" of freebore, I see that I'll have about a mile of jump if the bullet is seated to a reasonable depth in the neck.

Data seems pretty hard to find. I have a variety of Hodgdon powders available but would prefer to use Varget which I have the most of on hand. I know I'll have to start low and work up, but can anyone provide me with a loading range? Anticipated velocities?

look at the Hodgdon reloading page under 6 BR Remington instead of Norma. Lots of stuff for 65's.....

For whatever reason, the loads listed for 6BR Remington are at lower pressures.

I believe that is typical, maybe because of the throat? Brass? Outside of my wheelhouse here....

I'm using 30.0 of Varget with the 105 Berger which seems fairly common. I guess I'll start a bit higher and work from there. I'm surprised that no one has info for this bullet.

Found some info in the Nosler manual. They've got data for their 55gr and 70gr bullets in the 6mmBR. Got some cases loaded up and ready to go.

I use the Berger Columns (64ish flatbase, vs your 65FB.)

31gns Varget puts the bullet out at about 3100fps quite accurately (if a little slow.)

33.5gns is up into the neck a bit, runs about 3400 to 3450fps, and also seems to be pretty consistent. No pressure signs at all with my rifle.

I've shot Barts 66FB with the same charges with good results.

Edit: Sorry, thought you were talking flat base; just noticed you have BT's. Should be pretty close though. Watch the powder compression on the higher charge (I could run 34gns, but I don't like the crunching when I seat bullets.)
