Berger 6.5 140VLD Target velocity

Just picked up 500 Berger 140VLD Target for cheap and was wondering what the velocity sweet spot might be for them. Shooting 260AI, Peterson SRP, RL23, Fed205M. Other 140gr bullets have seemed to like around 2960ish, but haven't shot these before.

In my 6.5 CM with 28" barrel using the 140gr VLDT, a sweet spot for me is at 2877fps average. If I push it at or over 2900fps accuracy falls off too much...

Velocity don't matter to bullets. Your barrel & capacity & load decides.
My mid node with 140s & 26wssm Imp is ~3025fps.
This case designed to & matching 260AI in H20 capacity.
My barrel is 28". I use ~47gr IMR4350.

Yes, that is true, however there does seem to be trends with certain bullets falling into a common node around the same velocity. I do have a ladder loaded up as I'm switching powders too, but was just curious if there is a common velocity node.

Actual trends are predictable, and nobody on this planet can tell you where YOUR nodes will be based solely on a bullet (while dismissing cartridge and barrel length, etc.).
So far you have an example at 2877fps and 3025fps, with the same bullet and even same barrel lengths - But different cartridges.

My cartridges matches 260AI.
If your barrel is shorter than 28" figure ~40fps difference per inch. But then you can't overlook that I'm using IMR4350. Any other powder will affect where your node is because there is more than one node type. Major are the powder nodes, and barrel timing nodes, which are completely different and independent of one another. There is no such thing as a 'bullet node'.
