Berger .277s getting closer.

Berger may have some .277s completed in the next few weeks.
I Assume they will just do enough to test. Hopefully Eric will post a little more info soon.

We have been working to get the tooling right for the 270 cal jackets for the last 7 days. It has been a bear. We will not stop until it is right and each adjustment is supposed to be the one that does it so it will be any time now.

Once the jackets are running we will take the first off the machine to test the bullet dies. If the bullet dies check out then we are a couple of week away from the first production run. If the bullet dies are not right the delay will depend on the problem.

Needless to say, when we have bullets coming off the press I will make the announcement through the forums. We will be making a smaller initial run so that we can send these bullets to some folks with good rifles to see how they shoot. I am sure there will be a few volunteers to help us out with the initial test.

Regards,
Eric

Heard they were coming out with a 270-VLD, besides others.
Are you going to use them for hunting?
I'm curious on what the BC will be ....hmmmm
I was thinking if they started to come out with high BC .277 bullets that a 270x284 might be good caliber for LR Comp.. Would give better barrel life then a 6.5x284 I would think, and utilize the good Lapua brass.

Drop Eric a Email...tell him you would like to try some. He might send you some to test....

Happy Shooting

I'd love to test some but, I don't think my rig would do them justice. It's only a .5 MOA AR, I don't think I could get the bullets out into the lands where they need to be and I'm already pushing things pressure wise.
It would be much easier for someone with a bench bolt gun to test, I'll just hang out till they show up on the shelves.

Constructor,

When the time comes for the bullets to be tested we will be looking for many shooters to give them a try. It will mean something to me if your .5 MOA rifle shoots our bullets the same, better or worse. I am not only interested in knowing if they can set records. If they shoot good in your rifle that is a good piece of information.

I am not promising that you or anyone one specific person is going to be selected for the test but don't sell your .5 MOA rifle short. Your a shooter and that's all that matters.

In previous tests we selected shooters based primarily on wanting to get as many different component combinations involved as possible. When the time comes put your info into the hat. If you are not selected it will have nothing to do with the accuracy potential of your rifle.

Donovan,

I really appreciate your kind words. We will continue to engage in the forums. I strongly believe that we need to do everything we can to strengthen the shooting sports and much can be done to strengthen the shooting sports right here.

I believe one way this can be accomplished is to help all the shooters who seek assistance. Help comes in many forms and information is one of those forms. If we,and I mean all of us on this forum) can communicate something that keeps a shooter from letting his rifle collect dust due to frustration then we are doing right by that shooter.

I may not be able to lurk as much as I'd like if the presses are giving us fits but I will not stop lurking.

Regards,
Eric

Eric, How do we submit info in order to be considered for testing your .277 bullets? I hunt with a .270 WSM A-bolt SS Browning and it normally will shoot the 130 gr. BT Combined Tech. bullets in one ragged hole at 100 yds. when I do my part.
I do not have any sort of bench gun in .270 calber but would be eager to try your bullets in my A-bolt. Thanks, Bill

Bill,

Once the 270 cal bullets are coming off the press, and they are right by our standards) we will make the announcement through the forums that we are looking for testers. All the instructions on how to be a part of the test will be included in the announcement.

Regards,
Eric

The 270 jackets are running on the press right now. We made some bullets and the dies are not quite right. It should be just a bit of polishing to get them squared away. I am not 100% certain about this but it looks promising.

Regards,
Eric
