I've been shooting the Berger 180 Hybrid for awhile in F-Open and doing well with them in my 7 RSAUM. I'm just about to start testing the 184's now that our season is over in this area. Does anyone have any experience in the variation of powder charge (H4831SC) or seating depth they like versus the 180? That's just for a starting point of course.
On another tip note, a couple of months ago I did some updated primer testing. I've been using the CCI BR2's in this cartridge because when I first tested primers, they seemed to shoot a bit better than others. I've updated loads and am shooting much higher scores now, and wanted to do some updated primer tests. CCI BR2, Fed 210M and also some TulAmmo LR's because I have a lot of them in my inventory for my .308 F-TR rifle. where they shot very well. The results this time surprised me a great deal. BOTH the Fed 210M and TulAmmo shot better with lower ES than the CCI BR2 did. In fact, the TulAmmo also did a tad better in ES and group than the Fed 10M did as well. This was shooting the 180 Hybrids at 2900 out of a 28" barrel. I shot 2-5 shot groups of each, first with a MagnetoSpeed chrono to get speed and ES, and then a second set of the same without the chrono. The BR2 still shot well, but the others shot better with less vertical. Testing was done at 200 yards.
