Berger 175 OTM tactical .30 cal.

Anybody shot these yet? I'm guessing its a 175 BT as its profile is very similar? Trying to decide between the 175 and the 185 Bt. Looking for opinions. I'd be shooting them through a remington w/ a 24in rock 5R. 1/11.25. Currently shooting 175 Mks which shoot into an inch at 200m and wondering if these are going to be any better farther out.

Never know til you try them. No two rifles are going to be the same, so try out a box. Let the rifle tell you.

The Berger's are ballistically superior to the SMK. That means nothing more than they have a higher BC.

Follow above advice about choosing the bullet for your rifle, but be forewarned, the Berger bullet will take a different load - you are unlikely to see optimal results by simply substituting it into your SMK load.

They should shoot just about the same from what I understand.Bryan told me all about them but I have forgot more than I remember.I do remember that the jackets are a little harder than a smk or ncc.The other big thing about them is that you can load them to sammi specs with good results.This was the main reason why Bryan made them so that they can be loaded to fit in a mag rather than hand feeding each round.Plus they will fly no matter what sub or super sonic.

I've been using them in my .308 GA Precision Hospitaller since they became available. I can tell you this they out shot the Sierra's at all yardages. I have witnesses that will back me up here that at our range's max of 822 yards they shoot scary small groups, and that's at a moderate 2615 fps. If it's windy then the 185 LRBT's get the nod just for thier superior BC. Calm day they shoot about the same so I go for the 175's because you feel less recoil than the 185's at the same velocity. If I had to choose just one bullet for my .308 it would be the 175 Tactical OTM.
