Berger 156 & pre-64 264 Win Mag

I've seen a lot of buzz for the Berger 156 bullet for a 6.5 PRC. Most of the larger hunting load data I've seen for .264 loads are in 140 grain range. I would like your thoughts on loading this 6.5 bullet for use in a pre-64 .264 Model 70 primarily for elk.

What is the twist rate on your pre 64?

I believe the stock 26" barrel had a 1/9" twist.

1/8 twist is minimum twist rate for the BERGER 156 EH bullet.

Just remember even if they group dosen't mean you are getting all the bc they have .

BC will be effected. No way around it.

Yes factory original specs for 264wm is 9 twist and that is still the standard for that caliber on production guns.
