Bergara BMR?

Looks like the magazine is a lot smaller also - which corrects a hugely ugly visual problem - for my thinking anyway.... My question now is.... does it fit a 700 stock. So what it appears to be is a 40X repeater for under $600.00 MSRP. If these are decent quality they will sell them by the ton.

The ad says it comes with a 5 and 10 round magazine. Not sure which mag is pictured. Not sure if the receiver is a 700 foot print. I would think they'd advertise that if it was

Looks nice regardless. I'm very happy with my T1x and I've also been considering a B-14R or maybe even V22 some time in the future. I'll be watching closely to see what people are saying about this BMR

With all these new options it's a good time to be a rimfire fan

I have a steel barrel on mine and it came with a 10 rebound mag. I dropped in a Jewell’s 700 trigger.

I just noticed the barrel contours are different between the CF & steel versions. The chromoly version has a #4 taper and the CF has a #5. I like the appearance of the CF barrel but I think I'd prefer the little extra weight of the steel barrel. Either one is still pretty light. If I buy one I'll help to justify it (if only in my mind) by telling my girl this one's for her to shoot

. Stock might be a little long for her though. She shoots my 10-22 with Kidd ULW barrel now that's in a Hogue OM stock. She's a small woman. So it's a little long for her. Maybe they'll offer an optional shorter butt pad? I'd like to get her shooting a bolt gun. So hopefully it'll work out

Looks to me to be the same approximate size as the CZ, TIKKA or any other of the mainstream rimfire "sized" guns available.

I contacted Bergara about the BMR footprint, the only Remington 700 compatibility is with the trigger. It is not the same action as the B14R, it is a slimmed down action with a proprietary footprint.

I can't speak on the BMR but the carbon fiber barrel on the B14R is not wrapped. It's a tensioned steel tube.
The barrel on the B-14R CF appears to be about the same diameter as the steel version. Since the CF version is about a 1# lighter I assumed that the the steel part of the barrel was a smaller diameter that's wrapped in a CF jacket. Maybe wrapped is the wrong word? Sleeved? Coated?

Same with the BMR. Based on the pictures and specs the CF barrel is actually a thicker contour than the steel version (#6 vs #4 taper). Is the CF coating not "wrapped" on that one? How would you better describe it?

I'm honestly interested in learning the correct nomenclature here

If a barrel is wrapped, the material that is used to wrap the sleeve is bonded to the sleeve and it becomes 1 piece. A sleeved barrel liner just slides in and just has nut of some sort that puts tension on the liner. That's nothing new. I think my Colt M4 .22 barrel is made that way.
