Bergara B14R rimfire.

Thought I'd give a "Thumbs Up" for the Bergara B14R rimfire. I shot a Mini-Palmer 100 yd club match yesterday (over 20 entries). The last time I shot the match was a month ago with my 2500x (which I recently sold). I thought I'd try the Bergara for grins yesterday. I managed to shoot a 449-35x out of a possible 450-45x. It was good enough for 1st in the open bench class. I was tickled! This is a factory Bergara with a Jewell trigger I installed. Other than that...no mods. The funny thing for me was the 2500x on last months event I shot a 449-37x for 4th place. A $1100 rifle that's only 2-x's behind a $5,000 rifle??? SOMETHING is amiss here...lol! I think I'll keep the Bergara!!

What caused you to sell the 2500x?
Just me and the way I think sometimes (never said I was smart!). The 2500x shot lights out. I'd won that same match a few months ago with a 450-37x. I'd built the rifle to supposedly shoot ARA and maybe IR50/50 matches with it. I got disappointed in the fact those matches did not materialize at the two clubs I shoot at (I understand now the IR50/50 matches are coming next spring). Soooo I sold it to a really nice guy on this forum. I've since started gathering parts for another 2500x...BUT I was completely surprised Saturday that this Bergara would shoot like this!!

Well, I won't argue that point...as I would have had to agree with you until I shot it. Enclosed is two Mini-Palmer (15 shots each) targets at a 100 yds from the day before in practice with this Begara. It does seem to shoot well.
I don’t shoot rimfire benchrest but if I did I don’t think I’d spend anymore money to build the 2500!

Nice shooting!

The set-up...lol!

Bergara B14R rimfire (standard stock), Jewell 6oz trigger, UTG heavy duty bi-pod, Medium Protector rear bag, 20 MOA picatinny rail, and Sightron III 30mm tube 36x fixed power (1/8 minute dot),

2nd target (only one I kept out of 3 targets) picture (150-13x). Upper left bull is for (2) sighter shots only. Possible score 450-45x. My score was 449-35x.

I have 3. All have Bix triggers. 1. Standard Stella. 2. Heavy action factory. 3.. Barlein 24” 16 gain twist. Rifles 2 & 3 are inMDT chassis with Little Crow bag riders. They all shoot great but the only match winner was stock with a Bix. This was a postal 40 and 31X. 20 shots at 50 and 100 yards. You can’t buy better. YMMV.

Do you shoot with the rear bag in the position on the stock as it is in the photo?

Very good shooting!
