Well since its not in my nature to leave anything alone I went ahead and rebarreled my Bergara today with a Shilen ratchet twist barrel. The machining on the receiver actually checked very square and concentric so I didn't true anything up on it. I cut the barrel to 26", turned a cone breach and chambered it with our own spec 22lr match reamer leaving the headspace at .042". I shot 100rds for break in then cleaned and shot some 50yard groups with Eley black box and Lapua Super Long Range. Overall looks like it will get the job done. The rifle is set up with a Aero Precision Solus chassis, Jewell BR trigger set at 6oz, Atlas bipod, and NF NX8 4-32.
