Bergara B-14 Wilderness HMR .308

Anyone have any hands on experience with this rifle? I have an opportunity to buy one from a guy I shoot with for 800. The guy said it has 650 rounds through it.

It looks to be in great shape, but I don't know anything about Bergara or .308. I'm adding up the costs of all the other crap I'm gonna need, lol....like dies, brass, whatever powders I'll need for this caliber, etc. Not sure it's worth it, but may be fun to learn a new caliber.

I'd appreciate anyone's experience with build quality, accuracy, etc.

Its a good brand, shoots well, easy to work on. I have the same rifle and it has been great to shoot. Cheap to feed being a 308 win and has a fairly long throat from the factory so it will accept long range loadings. The stock is really comfortable to shoot and easy to adjust. My only complaint has been the marketing of the HMR as any form of match rifle while not accepting high pressure loads has been a disappointment. Firing pin design and bolt shroud can be an issue. pM me for more information.

I have been able to re-barreled it in once in 6.5 CM and have now installed a 28” MTU profile 308 with a .170 throat and shot the missouri state FTR match with acceptable success. For the price i would say you would not be disappointed.

The trigger is adjustible and i have set them down to 1.9lbs successfully. They are a 700 clone so the world is your oyster.

Have fun.

Thanks for the info. I went ahead and bought it from him on Saturday. I couldn't pass up the deal...I paid 700 and gave him a few pounds of powders that I don't use.

I haven't gotten to shoot it yet, but It looks brand new so I think I got a decent deal. I just mounted one of my spare scopes and will hopefully get to take it out this weekend. I'm not sure about this radial brake, but I'll give it a try. Most likely will pick up an APA though.
