Benelli super black eagle, extended tube, plug?

a relative is coming to hunt, and he wants use this gun for dove season. there is no cap on the end, there is a ring around the tube about 6 inches from the end. how do we restrict it to 3 shots? i am really not familiar with the Benellis, he said he thinks it is a first generation.

alll help is appreciated.

thanks!

Hope this helps a little,
I have a M3 Super 90 i purchased back in the mid to late 1990's. The plug for limiting rounds is a small rod, maybe 3/16" diameter with a like a round washer fixed to the end. It is held in the magazine tube by a small flat washer.

Let me know if you need a pic.

Tim

Extensions usually come with a longer spring, so if you bought the gun as is and did not get the factory parts you are probably going to need a
Magazine Tube Stop Ring, Magazine Spring Retainer Ring, Forend Cap, Magazine 3 Round Limiter Plug, Magazine Spring, and you may also need the Magazine Follower to get it back to factory. You are going to drop a hundred or more for the parts, or, if your handy, you can fashion a limiter yourself, a wooden dowel from the home store will work, just cut to length needed, as long as you can only get two shells in the magazine is what matters.

So I could just udo mag tube and slide an appropriate length dowel inside and reassemble?

Yes, you can, it is not the ideal way to do it but it will get you through a dove hunt, I have cut a stick in the field and dropped it in my Browning. The dowel/stick is a just to get by thing, the plug is usually held at the cap end by the spring, a stick just laying in the tube can hang in the spring and cause loading trouble, again, just an inexpensive get by thing for a one time deal, If I were going to use it as a hunting gun I would buy the factory parts.
