I take it your looking for pattern ideas. I'm sure Mcmillan can do this. Had this Dip Printed by DeadeyeLG.com
paint it black with FLAMESPick a color scheme and give me a shout.
No airbrushing or had painted stripes, but I know a guy that does!
McMillan stocks are very beautiful in thier natural state I like em for sure! We've got several McMillan stocks for BR. McMillan has about every color combination you can imagine In their marbled stocks, and do a terrific job of painting from what I've seen. From a practical standpoint, I like the marbled finishes. I saw one with a red fore end that marbled back to a dark blue that was REALLY sharp. Similar to the edge stock in the upper right hand corner of this page. https://mcmillanusa.com/mcmillan-rifle-stocks/mcmillan-benchrest-stocks-2/ Another advantage to the marbled is you don't have to worry about chipping paint or paint adhesion in general. JMHO. WD

As far as chipping/ pealing paints, never been an issue for me. I use the appropriate products, steps processes and procedures for the task at hand.

I start with a flexible 2 part flexible adhesion promoter, followed with a 2 part epoxy/urethane hybrid primer tintable as my foundation for sanding.
Followed with another coat of the 2 part adhesion promoter as a sealer.
Basecoats are catalyzed to promote cross link between ground and top coats.
Topped with a flexable clear.
Today I'm doing another McMillan stock in camo.
Data mini jet 1.2 neddle/nozzle set , 3m miniYou've got all the right stuff there and have YOUR stuff wired tight too. NICE looking paint booth there too. Do you use an HVLP cup gun??
Very Good looking stock in the picture. Who is the maker of that stock in the picture? I have one very similar. Just curious. WD
Hi I am wondering if any of you all had mcmillan EDGE benchrest stocks? If so could you share some pictures? Looking for some ideas on color combos.
Thanks
View attachment 1100159 I have been shooting this one for two years. It is quite a bit different than my heavy gun stocks but I have adapted to it easy enough and done well with it. I wish the recoil pad area was a little bit different but in a lighter recoiling cartridge I don’t think it is an issue,at least for me it hasn’t been. This one is chambered to 6.5 x 47 and weights 12 lbs.It would probably look a little bit better if I were to get it buffed and clearcoated,I should get around to that some day.
I sneak into Your house at night, get into the gun safe, snap a picture, put the gun away and post it.I don't know how you do it but you posted one of my rifles again.
Now that was done perfectly. Great work as always.McMillan stocks are very beautiful in thier natural state I like em for sure!
