Benchrest setup for Cooper 6BR Phoenix

I need advice regarding front and rear sandbags that work well with a Cooper Phoenix 6BR stock shot off a bench. My front rest is a Shade Tree top on a Sinclair Base with an Edgewood 2 1/4in Hunter Front Bag. I find I can not tighten the bag around the forend and will try removing sand from the front bag to see if that helps.

I need a rear bag that will work with this stock. What ear height, ear spacing, and model fits the Cooper Phoenix and Varminter stocks? I thinking of a Edgewood Minigater, will that work?

Bill, I'm in a bit of the same boat as you. I realized I needed a heavier rear bag and have a new one coming from Sinclair. In looking things over here are my thoughts:

The "Original Standard Height" edgewood bag description states, it is great for hunter/varmint stocks with a lot of drop in the butt stock.

I would think that the longer (front to rear) of the ears on the Minigator would be more ideally suited for a 1000 yard stype of stock with a long flat bottom stock.

I think your Cooper would ride better on the Original Style bag.

If you have a front sling swivel stud the Sinclair forearm asset will make shooting off a rest alot easier.

Thanks, the Sinclair Forend Benchrest Adaptor looks like a good idea. For the rear bag, what ear height and spacing will work best?
