Bench top wind indicator

I’m shooting at a public range that doesn’t allow wind flags. Anyone know of a bench top wind indicator? I realize it won’t be as good as my flags but probably better than nothing.

Kestrel Meters sells them. It would also be very easy to make a simple wind vane. Google wind vane or DIY wind vane and you'll probably find what you're looking far.

This is what I'm using. Its from Davis Instruments. Windex 10. You do not need the ears as they are for setting up a tack on a sailboat. There's nothing I've seen more sensitive/instant than these.

Small feather tied to your barrel, near the muzzle. A glance will indicate wind direction.

Here is what we have used for several years while prairie dog hunting. A telescoping pointer with a method to attach to the table ( I used a magnet on mine, with a metal plate in the table) and a 1 foot long piece of light, fluffly yarn glued to the tip. You could get a small tripod on Amazon and use that as a base on the bench at your range..

6-7 inches of caution tape tied to your vehicles antenna or where ever you want to attach it.

I believe Champions Choice sells them. We just call them windmills.

I used to get similar grief at the public range from time to time about planting windage flags along my lane. It was the motivation to drive another 30 miles to the club and escape that nonsense.

When they weren’t watching me too close, I would use the type of mast and yarn like @powderbrake and tape or zip tie it to my target frame, with another piece near my firing position.You know what they say about if they can’t take a joke...
