I like to burn and route/carve as a hobby.
Finding the line art, putting it on a program i have to size, printing it out. Transferring to wood.

There isn't much to be found.
If i could get this plaque image with black line on white back ground i could do something with it.

I tried but i can't draw & the print i have is terrible.
Any artistic drawers here ?

As my mother the artist once E6F10D83-0EB0-44E7-A8DF-000F90A11AF0.jpegsaid: “Let your hand go.”

A black line picture kinda like this of br shooting match with background would be cool to do. These kinds of pictures are20200722_130215.jpg made some how or another. I just don't know how.

Another option is to bring the image up on the computer screen and edit the monitor brightness. Use a thin white paper and trace. Even regular printer paper would probably work. Have done this before many times with good success.

I also agree with “letting the hand go”. Or as my old plant manager used to say “perfection is the enemy of good”.

When I started making stocks, I was trying to copy a design they don’t make anymore. I got started and thought the original design could use a few changes, so I went “off book”. I did a few, then bought a duplicator. The duplicator was OK but it was too mechanical. It left nothing for creativity. These days, when I do a stock, I do it free hand, letting the wood and whimsy guide my hands. It’s fun to explore subtle changes in form.
I understand that my stocks aren’t what most guys like and that’s OK. I do them for my own satisfaction. Each one is different and unique.

I have a few of the patches with the shooter and bench and they have evolved over time. There are differences in them. One is IBS, another Precision Shooting Magazine and another is NBRSA.

Not sure if this will help. If this is something like you are looking for you want a conversion program to change the image to "line art" like this: https://tech-lagoon.com/imagechef/en/image-to-edge.html

You would need to remove the plastic and get as good a photo as possible to remove unnecessary lines. Just copy to light or tracing paper maybe?
Yeah that's the problem. That's a pic i don't have the plaque. I have a program. Had same problem as your pic too much distortion when enlarged. It's on the 2nd pic.

Can you read a jpg file and burn it? Or do you have to have an actual object?

Yes jpg .
If it has allot of noise around it Enlarging it is where the problems come up.
Like on the board i was attempting to do 13" tall, 17 wide.
To much noise for good lines in the tight places where following is crucial.

I attempted trying to start outline but it looked like chit so I'm choosing to look for something better to start with.

I'll see what happens with some of the things posted here

The last one I posted above was a real photo taken with my iphone and then turned into line art at the link posted above. You might try taking a real clean photo and then running it thru the link posted above to see what you can come up with. I feel sure a good photo shop operator can give you a great image.
