Bench Mark Barrels

We’ve had a lot of success with Kriegers. The consistency has been great. That said, we’ve also done and had good luck with Benchmark, Muller, Shilen, and Bartlein. There will be barrels that shoot better than others no matter the brand and within the brand. These are top tier barrel makers and usually the decision comes down to personal history or availability. I recently ordered a big crate of Mullers.

Do you sell barrels?

I'm on my third Benchmark in centrefire BR and F-Class rifles - 6BR, .223, and 7mm Shehane, although my first choice over the years has been (and still is) Bartlein. All three Benchmarks have performed very well indeed, so no complaints at all.

I know that all stainless match barrels tend to change once fully run in at around 250-300 rounds down them with higher pressures and MVs, but the BMs seem particularly prone to this. So the 'killer load' you discover on running-in / early load development is likely to go 'off-tune', and may even see your loads over-pressure if the early loads are very 'hot'. (I know you're looking for a rimfire barrel, so this likely won't apply, but for anybody using the make on a high-pressure centrefire, it is definitely something to keep in mind.)

I bought a Benchmark 2-groove and Muller 8 groove on the classifieds here. Sold the Benchmark to a friend who had it put on his Vudoo.

We just had my Vudoo (Shilen barrel) and his at Lapua East center. His Vudoo hammered. Feeding from the mag it shot more than one lot at 12mm outside to outside at 50m. My Vudoo single shot barely managed 13.5mm. But shooting untuned in a rigid base isn’t the be all end all.

That said I consider both guns to be very accurate in actual shooting. But that Benchmark is a great barrel.

@skeetlee has my Vudoo now and hopefully the Muller barrel turns out to be a hummer.

I have had 5 or 6 3G BM chambered all with the Nevius specs. and reamer. not one of them disappointed me. my current ARA UL rifle has a 3G BM done 8 years ago and still hammers. I know I put a minimum of 60K+ probably closer to 80-90K down it.
it is a shame the wait now is 12 months for a barrel used to be 8-12 weeks. my current one was 9 months wait.
