Actually a weather delay at the start. It's better for shooting IF you can see the target. While some worked hard setting up the target frames and targets, some of us chatted and enjoyed coffee in support of the work.

Some, like High Master Steve Krauss, set up their bench real early so they could work in the fog. Others prefer a "simplistic" bench approach. All are welcome.

At the start there seemed to be a more serious tone to the shooters than normal. The shooting experience took on a quality mode. Look at the original score sheet and you can see that the groups were pretty good and some were outstanding.

Perfect weather for a bell to ring. Doug Bell stood on top at Manatee. Take a peek at the three shots in one long hole.

Check the club website as there are normally three club shoots, gong and paper, each month. You might want to try and join the fun.

Looking at moving the 600 yard match down to the Manatee BR range. Berm moved back to 630 yards last year. With the move, we could hold a registered IBS match running traditional light and heavy gun classes, with shoot-offs for prize money. Hope to get more people involved. Moving away from the public range would go a long way in accomplishing that goal. Any out there interested to coming to a registered match back at the BR range? May have to pay a fee to use that range. It is in high demand. Covered firing line with 16 benches. The more interest the faster we can get going.

Ok, now your talking. Make it happen! :) Florida needs 600yd IBS.

BT1 - Steve.

Count me in.

Now I do remember Doug saying he needed to get two or three more barrels from Alex Wheeler and was soon going to do that. If he does I will change my name.

Thanks Twitchy, Larry M. and Larry T and Steve K.. It is very rewarding to be able to see some good results from a lot of testing etc etc, to get it all to fall in place……... I want to work with Steve, Tom and others to make the IBS 600 matches happen down on the BR range. Thats a great (clean air range as I call it) to shoot on. The upper range has too many berms to shoot through, and a skip berm to shoot over, and a lot of standing water at times. Please Let Steve Krauss know if you are interested in shooting with us.
Larry I need to keep the fresh barrels coming in order to be able to compete with all the tough shooters we have. You will be one of the first to know how well they will shoot.;)

Doug - ... "Old barrels for the poor..."

FYI, NO Reloader 16 at the gun show in Tampa today. Lots and lots of 8# and 1# Varget. I bought nothing of interest.

Captain Cannonfodder.

That's the way it goes. If you want something really bad like certain powders, it may be a long wait. Just have to be patient, but diligent in your search. Doug

Steve -
Bare in mind, registered IBS-600 matches are "4-target agg" with no shoot-offs.
The IBS-1000 has relay qualifiers to shoot-offs.

Good luck.... hope it all comes together and works out !.!.!
Donovan

Thanks Donovan. There are more than a few holes in my knowledge of IBS matches, but I have a group that will keep me on the straight and narrow, if we ever get that far. Maybe I was under the impression that match prize money was decided by a shoot-off of relay winners. Yes 4 group aggs really tell who was the best shooter with the best rigs, but doesn't that lead into who had the best relay draw. I have been shooting mostly f-class over the past 4 years and the relay draw can make or break your chances to place highly.
