Bell & Carlson vs H-S Precision

I feel the B/C and HS are very close in quality. Until you step up to McMillan or Manners etc I wouldn’t pay the difference between the two. Good luck with your choice.

If you have one of Remington's over moulded Tupperware stocks then yes.
Also look at the Mc3

Having both some B&C as well as HS stocks, I also find them very similar. There are some HS styles that I prefer over B&C styles but that would be the only reason. To choose one over the other IMO.

Some of the b&c sporter stocks still have the checkering washed over with paint. I dont care for those but that is the only time id choose an hs over a b&c

I prefer the HS much better than the B&C. The fit and finish is much nicer in my opinion with a much better recoil pad on the HS.

My last 3 stocks have been B&C from Stocky's with the aluminum bedding. Some of Stocky's aluminum bedded stocks have a ridge on both sides of the aluminum and that is where the action rests. However, the B&C aluminum bedded stocks don't have the 2 ridges. The action rests completely on the bedding. I like that much better.

P3300028.JPG P3300023.JPG Both stocks are fantastic, especially when you compare either one to the complete, absolute junk that Remington manufactures. One thing I am not seeing mentioned here, I don't know about the Bell and Carlson, but FWIW the H-S Precision has a very effective pressure point in the forend channel. I know some guys don't like/will never use a pressure point, but I left it in mine. I figured what can it hurt to try, and I am glad I did.
Also, back in the 90's when I first got my hands on an H-S Precision stock the general consensus was to glass bed it anyway. You weren't supposed to have to, but everyone did. The above rifle has not been glass bedded at all, although that was always my intention. I am scared to touch it at this point!! I wont even clean the barrel while it is shooting like that.

Stocky's carries/makes Model Seven stocks?????

Both stocks have too much flex in the last half of the barrel channel for me. Your Bipod will bounce. Have to put my bipod in the rail as far as it can go back towards the chamber. If you are doing this for F Class, I would recommend getting a laminated stock. Stiff as a you know what on a teenager.

I have both and I think the HS stocks are more rigid than the B&C stocks I have. They are definitely miles better than Tupperware and are decent hunting stocks. I hope your final choice works out for you.

I have owned several of both and as a test I took my most accurate rifle and switched it between all of my B&C and H-S Precision stocks. The B&C stocks all delivered better groups than the H-S. I replaced all my H-S with B&C.

I can't speak for a Model 7 B&C but I can for an HS. I have one with a #3 Shilen and Would not hesitate to buy another one. They are very easy to open the barrel channel if you need to. If I needed another Model 7 stock, I would just order another HS myself.
