Been to Thunder Valley Precision in Ohio?

If so can you tell me what to expect if I go on an Open Range day?

I have a rifle that's been out to 500 yards and I want to practice at greater ranges, 600 to 1000 yards.

Do I take paper targets? Target stand? Or do they only shoot steel at those ranges?

Any other advice?

It’s steel from 200-1000 every hundred yards, also at 1200 and just under a mile. A rangefinder is a good idea because the distances aren’t really marked or exact. There is a hundred yard paper area if you need to zero.

There is a paper target backer at one mile as well, but unless there is a match it won’t be used most of the time. The range is generally always hot so there’s no way you can go hang anything or paint the targets.

They did just open a second pavilion and there were targets out to 2444 yards for the ELR match, but I don’t think those will be out all the time for safety.

I definitely recommend going. It’s a great range. Let me know if you have other questions.
