Bedding problem HELP!

I got an action screw stuck I used lock tite as my compound, I can't budge the screw , I'm wondering if I could take my propane torch I use for annealing heat from inside action, any advise will help

Last but least if you cant get it out drill the head off the screw so you can get it out of the stock. Then you can use a propane torch to heat it up some to melt the Loctite.

jonbearman I can get right on screw hole with torch this is a 3 screw savage target action and its the middle screww , will the heat hurt my action

man oh man, I got it to my torch for just a couple seconds and heated head of screw then took a box end wrench for leverage on the allen head wrench and it start turning slowly, happy days or here again, THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH, it's HS presision stock just kinds messed the finish up but no big deal a little sand paper and flat black will fix it

Some tape and appropriate heat shields/heat sink could have protected your finish. I find when I have an unusual problem and solution I like to take a day or so to work on other things while I mull over the proposed solutions to consider what I might have missed. rushing into something like this is how you mar your finish.

Not criticizing you, just pointing out the lesson learned.

Thanks for in put guys , the finish on a HS stock isa ruff flat black finish , had it been one of my Mcmillans bench stocks I would have been upset, damage is already fixed , I had plan to sand the whole thing and paint it with a automotive paint, so I'm lucky all around, this was a touch up bedding, I didn't put enough compound on it the first time so it was light on top , it really wouldn't have affected the fitting at all but I am very particular in what I do, so there was no compound on the threads of the action some how I got a small bit on the head of the bolt, I have no idea how, so no matter how many bedding jobs you do, I have done dozens and it's the first screw up.

The advice on heat shield I will remember, not sure what heat sheild would not have bubbled that texture. Thanks again
