Bedding a Rem 600 Mohawk?

Any advise on the best way to bed a Rem 600 Mohawk?

I've never done this before, but am fairly handy and from what I've see I think I could pull it off.

Questions/issues with this model however would be the small area at the rear action bolt, is there a way to pillar this, if I were to go that route? Might be best of just bedding the action?

My father in law had one in a mcmillian stock that was very accurate. I would ask him how it was bedded but passed away last year. His wife took off with all his rifles and would not give them to his kids like he wished. Im no help.

Sorry for your loss. That sounds like a difficult situation, what a shame.

I just used 1/2" pillars and flattened the rear to clear the trigger. The rifle shot OK before bedding, 1" to 1 1/2", and 3/4" plus after bedding.
