Bedded Savage action torque?

Whith a pillar and devcon bedded Savage PTA action, are the action screw torque recomendations the same?

Have read the Stan Pate article and I believe it is for a factory stock rifle.

I use 40 inch lbs front screw, 40 inch lbs for the second and 30 inch lbs for the third bolt at the trigger guard. Eric

Try it in stages like ebostrom says, try 40 in front 30 in the middle and 20 on the back and work up in 5 inch pound stepsdoing the middle first arter the initial torque.

Yep.
Start with 40 on the front and leave it there. Try going progressively heavier as you work your way back. I believe you'll end up withing a pound of the front screw all the way back. But, there are so many other things to watch while you work into pinpoint groups, such as flags, loads, OAL. Don't sweat the torgue too much.
