bearing surface question

can someone tell me the bearing surface difference between the .22 cal hornady 80gr. a-max and the 80gr. vld target
I'd appreciate the help!!!

A quick measurement taken from one of my 80gr A-max's showed the Bearing surface to be ~.365" long.

A Berger 80 gr Match VLD Target bullet has a Bearing Surface of .354". Based on my measurement method these two bullets could well have the same bearing surface measurements (or real close).

The fact that the A-max has a secant ogive and a longer BT than other bullets like the SMK's, it is essentially a "VLD", just not advertised as such.

They sure shoot nice in my rifle.
