BDL Bottom Metal Fitting Question

Can someone explain why on some stocks when install installing BDL metal the metal lifts out of the stock inlet when tightening the opposite screw. Example: put bottom metal in stock with no screws. Put the rear screw in and lightly snug it down and then watch the front of the metal pull up out of the stock inlet. Then when you go to tighten down the front screw you have to force it down to get it fully seated against the pillar. I cant seem to figure out why some stock do and others don't and also what is the fix.

Thanks

some stocks are not flat between the action screw holes, I have seen this many times.
sometimes the block of aluminum that holds the latch/spring on the bottom metal bottoms out causing it to rock fore or aft slightly
