BC of pointed Berger 155.5

Hey there
Does anyone know the BC of a pointed Berger 155.5?

I haven't invested in a pointing die yet so I'd like to I'd like to see what the gain would be before I do.
Cheers

After I did spend the $$ I discovered that according to Bryan Litz there is only a 1% increase in BC after pointing. I do think that it makes them a tad more consistent though so I still do it.

The increase in BC is relative the the diameter of the bullet. The smaller the diameter the greater the gain with pointing. With the 308 for most bullets maybe a 1 or 2% gain. However with most bullets it's more uniforming the BC from bullet to bullet due to some manufacturing differences in the meplat. So the flight of your bullet would be more consistent versus obtaining a higher BC.

So in your opinions it's worthwhile even with 308? I would probably end up doing it for Berger 108 and 105 also.

Depends on what your shooting. If your shooting 600yds or less it's probably not worth it. If it's 800, 900, 1K it is. Depending on the caliber you'll see an increase from 1-3%. As stated smaller calibers have a greater increase in BC

Not really worth it with the triple nickel. I've pointed up 6mm 105 hunting VLDs with no apparent increase in BC (same poi at 1000 yards).

Target VLDs and 108s could be another story entirely.

That is one of the bullets that was tested in the Applied Ballistic series. Tipped, pointed then tipped and pointed.

I tried these tipped and pointed with various loads at 200 yards between 1000-1300 fps. The vertical string tightened up a little over 1/2" on average.
