BBL Pad?? or not

The receiver is a Stiller RF Trident, solid bottom. The bbl is 26", w/ a muzzle of .900. The 4" shank is 1.200. Is there measurable bend or flex to the receiver, w/ this wt of bbl???
The stock is a prone, walnut laminate.
Trying to decide if I should pour a 1"-1 1/2" bbl pad, in front of the receiver, to help out w/ the bbl wt.
There is no recoil lug, but there is a recess in the receiver bottom, so bedding material will perform that role.

These actions are usually used on BR guns with .850 or .900 straight barrels. They are really quite stiff and can be bedded with 3 action screws, so I doubt if the weight of your barrel will cause a problem. You could always reach out to Jerry Stiller and ask if he has fitted any heavier barrels for prone rifles.

He doesnt work there anymore.
If a barrel will get hot, like 20rd strings, i do not bed the barrel. If you are likely to change barrels very often i do not bed the barrel. That leaves hunting rifles

That sounds pretty 'definitve', gunsmithing. That is what I will go with.
Thanks,
Stocks move, even fiberglass ones. Barrels move too..At the very least, you want them to move the same way, without varying pressure put on it from the stock as things like temp and humidity change. I've seen only a couple of thin hunting barrels shoot best with a pad anywhere, so they exist. But in those cases, they weren't what I'd call really good shooting rifles anyway. Plenty good for a hunting rifle but just not what we here generally refer to as good.

Also, forget about the notion of the barrel being too heavy for the action. That's basically a solution looking for a problem and is over thinking things. Just my 2 cents. As usual, someone may well come along and post pics of some good groups with a pressure pad. It certainly can happen but my experience is that it causes problems way more than it helps.
