BAT SV action ?????

Can you shoot a 308 or a 6.5 creedmoor in a BAT SV (small) action with a 308 bolt face or is the action only for the BR type cases? I sure would like to own a BAT action sometime soon!!!! Lee

Lee- if you ever lay hands on one of the BAT actions you'll never be the same again.......
For what it's worth take a long hard look at the BAT 3 lug-- normal or the long.. It's the slickest action you'll ever see..................

The SV model only has a 2.3 inch port length. I would think a model with a 3 inch port would work better for the .308.

The 3 lug actions are not much more than the 2 lug actions. Not sure if they are more accurate, but if you want a shorter bolt lift it would be worth considering.

my good friend has a 3 lug BAT and it is simple a work of art. He shoots that rifle so darn well!! I will have a bat sometime soon. I have a couple rifles i may part with, so i can fund one. I really dont have a particular project in mind though. I am waiting on a ppc i just bought. Its a an older Hall action. I am afraid i will be bitten by the ppc bug and if i do i may have to go all out. A 6br for 300-600 yard shooting would be pretty cool as well. I am to new to all this to know were i will settle in yet, so i need to try and be patient. (thats hard for me to do!! LOL!!) I think the f-class game looks like a lot of fun, but i havent gotten a chance to shoot a match yet. We have a 100,200,300 yard varmint for score match at our local club, and i really really enjoy that game. I have a new 30br that is shooting better than i can drive it, but it is a heavy gun. The little green worm that lives in the back of my brain is telling me i need a light gun for this game as well. To darn many choices, and definitely not enough cash!! The Hall may be more than i ever wanted, and i hope it is. It should be here in a couple days. Its a nice set up, comes with a couple barrels and a lot of other odds and ends. its just a little older. From what i understand it was a heck of an action in its day. It will be a great starter gun for me, in the ppc world. I have always been a little intimidated by the hole ppc thing, but i do believe it is finally time to see what all the hoop-la is about. My buddies Bat ppc sure makes me see things from a complete different perspective. Should be a lot of fun. I used to love winter, so i could kill duck and chase coyotes, but i wish it were over already. I am ready to shoot some benchrest!! Thanks guys!! Lee

I am having one built as we speak...30br/ppc SV with a RB/LP/RE. From what I understand, and it is limited there is an extractor that can be fitted so that both case heads can be extracted reliably. I am hoping to use this gun for a write up about midway through the competitive season next year. I will let you know how it turns out.
