Bat serial number

A j shooter

Shoot often
Does anyone know how to read the serial # on a bat to figure the year and date built . Just trying to see what year an action was built.
Thanks Jeff

Just call Bat Machine and speak with Daryl Thom or Bruce Thom, they should have the exact date in their log. - Or E-mail them. - Give them the model of the action & serial number.

Ya I know I could call just thought there might be a code to go by.

Depending on the model of BAT action, one may be able to "guess" but there isn't a "code" or any other method other than get ahold of BAT or be lucky enough to know or be able to contact someone who has a serial number close to the one you have. And even then that doesn't mean you'll have concrete date information. - They (BAT Machine) build what actions are in demand and are ordered by customers and their wholesalers (which is about 3 or 4 companies) based on the wholesalers demand / requests.
Why is the year / date of mfgr important ? (if you don't mind saying)

They tend to be one of the more expensive actions, but IMO, there is no finer action than a BAT. My 338 Lap Imp is built on a BAT HRPIC receiver and it's a beautiful piece of metal!
