BAT M Actions For Long Range Benchrest

Is it common Practice to Alter the firing pin spring, in a Bat M action, to reduce the amount of force required to eject the spent case and cock the action So as not to disturb the rifle in the bags?

I have modified my ejection spring so it barely lays them out of the gun and on the bench. I didn't alter the firing pin spring though. BAT is selling new heavier firing pin assemblies. Matt

My Bat M action seems to take an excessive amount of force to cock the action and lift the bolt after firing even after dry firing.
I think it so excessive that it will disturb the Rifle in the bags thus having an adverse effect on it's tracking.
My question: Is reducing the spring force on the firing pin an acceptable method for reducing the effort required to lift the bolt handle and cock the action?
