I've also got some barrels listed for sale that would go nicely with this action.

I wish I was in the market right now. Pair it up with a foundation stock would be awesome. GLWS

You say that it’s a flat nosed bolt but the picture shows a recessed bolt nose. Is the bolt in the picture what it comes with?

Not the OP but, if you are at all familiar with BAT Bench Rest actions, he is talking about the actual bolt nose. Sure is HR has a recess and I am not aware of any that don't. The difference is BAT also does what is referred to as a cone bolt. If you look at BAT website you can see the differences. I think, if my terminology is correct, you are looking at the recessed BOLT FACE with a FLAT BOLT NOSE.

Thank you shoot4fun, you are correct. As far as I know no action has a non recessed bolt face, that would make extraction pretty difficult.

This is a non-conical bolt face, therefore a flat nosed bolt.

You both are incorrect. The last BAT that I purchased new was a VR. The bolt was flat with no recess. This doesn’t affect the operation of extraction. It only changes the theory of the Remington “Three rings of steel”.
BAT offers coned bolt, recessed bolt and flat bolts.
Google “Flat bolt nose”

The “Flat bolt nose” in my description is a retyping of the build sheet Bat sent with this action. Regardless of anything else, the picture shows the bolt that came from Bat with the description on the build sheet as “Flat bolt nose”. ‍

Looks like Defiance uses the same verbiage as Bat. Bat has no such picture on their website.
