BAT actions

Have a BAT SB action and love it.
Would like to get a new BAT action for the 6.5x47 Lapua.
What action would be the best model? and which
would be best? a 2 lug or a 3 lug?

Dale

I'd probably go for a Bat 3-lug, crome-moly, with integral recoil lug,it's an option). If you want to stick with a 2-lug, the B would be a good choice. If you're going to hang a big, fat heavy barrel on it, the MB. I'm happy that I went with an M instead of the MB, though. More choices available later on.

I know most readers are BR shooters but maybe some proneshooter will have some feedback for me. I currently have a 3L BAT on my Palma rifle but am considering building another, lighter version) with the Anschutz trigger option. Does anyone have this trigger in their BAT? What do you think of it? Any issues?
thanks in advance,

Lige:

I have an Anschutz trigger on my smallbore rifle and a CG/Jackson trigger on my Remington. I would choose the CG/Jackson on the Bat over the Anschutz. When I can, I will be changing out the Jewell on my Bat with a CG.

+1 on the CG as it is designed for the centerfire rounds and not smallbore. Additionally, the CG will fit the Remington trigger hangers without having to be specially cut for the Anschutz.

I have several Anschutz triggers on long range prone guns and a new smallbore rifle, but I have examined the CG and know very fine shooters who use the CG and they are VERY impressed. It sure felt good go me when I tried it.

Where do you get this CG Jackson trigger? Does it need any modifications to fit on a Stolle Panda trigger hanger???

thanx

Rhino:
They are made by Tom Myers, who posts over a LR.com and is a shooter. I don't know if he posts here. They are sold by John Widden who advertises here. Call John, I'm sure by now he knows what they fit.

I e-mailed Tom Myers asking about the CG/BAT combination. Here's what I received:

Negative Mike,

Right now the BAT action is the only Rem clone action that I'm aware of that the CG trigger does not fit into easily. It's because the hanger is so small. There is no room for the screws on either side. Bruce is aware of this and has asked for a trigger to study the problem but...he didn't sound very encouragin...

Tom

Bad News!
In my opinion,,if a two-stage trigger is wanted) the CG trigger is more important to precision shooting then which custom action to use. Moves BAT way down the list for me.

I don't know, I've never heard of a TAC two-stage trigger. Most Remington triggers fit, the CG is just a touch to wide from what I am hearing.
Mike

From the post that was on the LR Forum-CG is in the process of making a drop in two stage Rem type-call it a Tac-that will fit without any mods to stock or bottom metal-same size/dims as the stock trigger.Hopefully be ready by end of summer. If it has same dims as stock will it fit a Bat action hanger is what I,m wondering? Looking forward to a Bat. Thank You Barry
