BAT action screws - torque

Hi All. I have a BAT action / Tooley MBR stock that I use for a switch barrel. Can anyone advise of the 3 action screws torque settings in inch/pounds please. And in which order do I tighten them?
Any info appreciated.

Three action screws? What model BAT?

M type. But after re checking the screws out I counted the rearmost screw that is on the trigger guard as one.
So I guess it should have read 2 and not 3. Also ref the rear trigger guard screw - what should that be torqued to?

If pillar bedded, 65 inch pounds on front and rear action screws (which are larger). Middle screw should be the front trigger guard screw and tightened just "snug" or about 20 inch pounds.

I have set up a lot of these on BAT's and this is just my opinion, it holds true for Rem 700's as well. Putting stress on the middle small screw is not advisable, just torque so it does not come loose.

Thanks guys for the info, but for clarity here is a photo of my BAT action. There are in fact 3 screws that go into the action. The one on the right goes through the rear of the trigger guard. Can anyone confirm that they should all be of the same torque.
Thanks

No, as Sighter said, only tighten the small screw enough to keep it from unscrewing. [br]
*** CORRECTION *** Preacher is correct. Only the small screw should be just snugged. The other three should be torqued. My 3L and 3LL actions only have two action screws.

The BAT M model has 4 screws, the one in front of the trigger guard is to be left just finger tight.
The other 3 need to be torqued to 65 INCH pounds....

For what it is worth, i did a test on two of my Bat model b's and went from 35 inch lbs. to 65 inch lbs and it didn't mean a rats rear end. If they are bedded right, like torque on the barrel same story........ jim

Preacher is right on, all large screws if pillar bedded can torque up to 65. Front trigger guard just snug. Most BATs I have dealt with are S through B, the M and larger magnum actions get extra screws, you will really enjoy that action!

Most don't attach the front trigger guard screw to the action, either none or a threaded insert in the stock..... jim
