I decided to upgrade my LR prone rifle battery by building a new rifle around a BAT 3L - figured I could sell off one or two of the rifles I've built around Rem 700 actions to pay for the project. Called Bruno's to see if they had any in stock, got a negative there, but put my name on their list for one of the next run of actions they received. A few days later, I decided to call BAT and ask how long it'd take to get one, and was told that my timing was good - they were in the middle of making a run of 3Ls, and still had three action blanks that weren't spoken for. I made the $300 deposit, and put my name down for one w/integral recoil lug, ejector, & the 20 MOA sloped Weaver-style base. It arrived eight weeks later, just as they'd promised. When I called Bruno's to order a Jewell HVR for it, they told me they'd just received their run of 3Ls, and asked if I still wanted one. That was too much temptation for me to resist, so now I've got two 3Ls.
Robertson Composites knocked out one of their H&H prone stocks in about five weeks for the first action; since I'd already fitted & chambered a couple of Kriegers,6x47 Lapua & 284 Win), I was ready to finish the inletting, milling cut-outs for ejection port, bolt channel, bolt stop, etc.) and get it bedded. I wound up using one of the new Kelbly triggers on this one, and went with a Leupold 6.5-20x50LR target scope.
I really like the 3L actions - they're smooth operators, and bolt lift seems to take no more effort than that of my Nesika K. I've only been able to get in a couple of short range sessions at 600yds. so far, but have no regrets in choosing the BAT.
