Bases/rings for a Cooper model 22

I have two Cooper rifles, one came with Talley bases and the other with Leupold standard bases. The Talley fixed rings are OK but I am worried that they will not be able to properly secure a heavy scope like a Nightforce. As for the Leupold bases with the windage screws ... lets just say that I need a better alternative. Before I buy another Talley setup, does anyone have a better suggestion?

Thanks

Burris Signatures in Double Dovetails. Rock Solid, plenty of strength to hold the big optics like Nightforce. The Signature inserts allow you to pre-load windage and/or elevation. If you need to swap scopes go for the Burris Signature Zees,Weaver-style) with a rail mount.

I had already checked the Burris website and they did not list any bases for Cooper firearms. Bases for Cooper model 22 rifles seem to be manufactured only by Leupold, Talley and maybe Warne. I will check with Burris Friday AM.

Thanks
John

Copperhead,

On my Cooper 22 I am using Warne two piece steel bases, which are made to accept a weaver style ring. The part numbers can be found at this link http://www.warnescopemounts.com/cart/shopexd.asp?id=29
I ordered the bases through Brownells since most companies did not have them in stock. For the rings I am using the high Burris Signature Zee rings. This allows for ample clearance for my Leupold 8.5-25x50 VX-III. If your Nightforce is a 56mm instead of the 50mm you may need the extra high. Order both and return the one which does not work.

You may also try U.S. Optics. I believe they also make a base for the Cooper. I do not know if they have an elevated base,i.e. 20 MOA) or not.
