Base mounts

I have a savage f class in 6br and have a weaver t36 on top. I have the burris base mounts and burris scope rings(not sig select). I was wondering if i have enough elevation to reach out to 600 yards. I havent got to shoot it much yet, but will as soon as the weather clears up. Any info helps. Thanks, Josh

Josh: With the Burris Signature rings and the off-set inserts you can get all the "extra" up adjustments you could possiby need for 600 yd. They are being used with the .020" in both the front & rear rings for 1000 yds. And another bonus is no ring marks on the scope tube, ever. Just too many advantages to not use them.

Josh: I don't have a Weaver T-36 (anymore), and don't use the Burris non-signature rings, so my "answer" would be of the "I think" type, and don't want to do that. Hopefully someone with hands-on exerience can help, and/or a good ballistic program would put you very close to the required "click-ups" for 600 yd. You did not mention the bullet weights, muzzle velocity, etc., all very important for downrange points-of-impact.

Josh-- You will need somewhere in the area of 80 clicks from 100 yard zero to be on at 600. My T36 is 72 clicks from 300 to 600. If you are zero at 100 yards ,click your scope up till you run out, you will now know.

thanks guys, i dont know how fast my muzzle velocity is as i dont have a chorno. But im shooting 105 scenars. If i swiched to 95 will that have a different poi? Less clicks?

Josh,

If you are zeroed at 100yds you need around 12 moa to get to 600.

When you zeroed at 100yd, did you have to go up or down from the middle of the range?
Suggest making a note of where you are now on the turret (so you can return there), then run it (elevation) through the range to figure out what your true range is. I don't mean shooting, just adjusting the scope. Then you will know where in the range you are, and thus how much you have left. Would be better to do this at home, if you do it at the range and have no way to correct it while there, a wasted trip. I would guess around 13MOA from 100 to 600 for the 105 Scenar, depending on velocity and conditions of course.
